Day-by-Day Itinerary
Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Your dedicated driver/guide will be waiting at Kigali International Airport. Based on your arrival time there may be opportunity to visit Kigali markets. Afterwards set out for Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Butare Cultural Museum Tour
After breakfast the tour guide/driver takes you to Butare Cultural Museum. You will have access to Rwanda's rich cultural history and get a full view of fascinating traditional artefacts, decorations, and pictures.
Primate Tracking & Lake Kivu Visit
After early morning breakfast, the driver takes you on the primate tracking tour in the famous Nyungwe Forest National Park — chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and silver monkeys. After lunch, ride to Lake Kivu for relaxation at the beach. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.
Ross Carr's Orphanage & Kigali
Breakfast at lodge, then proceed to Ross Carr's Orphanage. Interact with the founders and orphans and offer gifts. Lunch at a local restaurant before transferring back to Kigali City for overnight.
Transfer to Ruhengeri
After breakfast embark on a journey to Rwanda's most famous national park area at Ruhengeri. Opportunity to see many gorillas and several plant species. Visit surrounding communities after lunch.
Community Walk & Batwa (Pygmy) Cultural Experience
The tour guide leads you in interacting with community residents and learning their way of life. Lunch at the lodge. Entertained by local dancers in the community in the afternoon.
Karisoke Gorilla Research Centre
The Karisoke Gorilla Research Centre was started by the legendary Dian Fossey. Visit the location after breakfast. Proceed for lunch at the lodge. Time permitting, visit the market and Genocide Memorial Centre.
Departure
Welcome to the last day. After breakfast, the driver is available to take you to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
